The description of the intrinsic calibration procedure in the README file of Kinect-2.8 is wrong. I added a new feature to the grid drawing tool, and forgot to update the README before packaging 2.8.

In the section “Projection Matrix Calculation” in the README, modify step 2 as follows:

Instead of binding a grid drawing tool to the (five) buttons 1-5, bind the tool to the buttons 1, w, 2, 3, 4, 5, in that order. Afterwards, the calibration procedure works exactly as described.

Using the binding sequence from the README will not complete because the tool expects six buttons instead of five, and when pressing another random button to finish it, the tool’s functions will be shifted over by one button slot because the new function, “Toggle Depth Plane Lock,” will be bound to the “2” key instead of “Store Grid,” and so forth.

The new function, which is bound to the “w” key using the fixed procedure, is a new feature to simplify extrinsic calibration between multiple Kinects.
