The water simulation requires a discrete graphics card, like an Nvidia GeForce (recommended minimum: GTX 1060). It will not work on the integrated on-chip graphics adapter in modern Intel Core CPUs.

Just wanting to confirm that the 7th generation Intel chips still won’t run the water simulation?
    I’m running a Dell XPS13 Developers Edition (2016) with a 7th Generation Intel Core i5.
Everything except the water simulation is working great!
I’m receiving the same error message as above: glPrintError: Invalid framebuffer operation.
I’m running the sandbox with the command: ./bin/SARndbox -uhm -fpv -rer 20 100
Am I running into the same video card problem as jimender above, or perhaps am I issuing the wrong command to start the water simulation?

I’m hoping the Dell is powerful enough to run the water simulation as it’s a very slick computer!
thanks in advance for your help!

I have exactly the same problem. But, I am using an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070. My suspicious is that the code/program/computer is not recognizing the card. For example, when I type nvidia-settings, I get the following message.

ERROR: Error querying enabled displays on GPU 0 (Missing Extension).

ERROR: Error querying connected displays on GPU 0 (Missing Extension).

** Message: PRIME: No offloading required. Abort
** Message: PRIME: is it supported? no

ERROR: nvidia-settings could not find the registry key file. This file should
have been installed along with this driver at
    /usr/share/nvidia/nvidia-application-profiles-key-documentation. The
application profiles will continue to work, but values cannot be
prepopulated or validated, and will not be listed in the help text.
Please see the README for possible values and descriptions.
