For calibrating the Kinect, the Linux Terminal command is required to run the calibration process. However the command given, “cd ~/src/SARndbox-2.7RAWKinectViewer -compress 0” comes up as “too many arguments”. What could be causing this issue and how do we fix this?

Your quoted text actually has two separate commands in it:
cd ~/src/SARndbox-2.7 and RAWKinectViewer -compress 0. Try entering the commands in succession.

The “too many arguments” is cd telling you it cannot handle -compress and 0 after the first part.

Yes, check the instructions again. If I remember correctly, you want to make sure you are in the SARndbox directory by typing cd ~/src/SARndbox-2.7 on one line in the terminal (hit enter) and in the following line, run the RawKinectViewer software by typing ./bin/RawKinectViewer or alternatively ./bin/RawKinectViewer -compress 0 (and hit enter).

You can take a closer look at this directory structure by inspecting the ~/src/SARndbox-2.7 folder with the desktop GUI. It should have a bin folder inside of it, and inside that you will find the RawKinectViewer software. This is what you are trying to run.
