I have tried this several times now and cannot get the green grid to show on my display.
I press 1 and get the main menu then select draw grids. The “creating grids tool” pops up and then I press 2,3,4 and 5. I never get a grid.
Please help. I have no clue and have a geology professor waiting to use her brand new AR Sandbox.

    Thanks

    Hi Jeff,

From what I understand because the intrinsic calibration matches the color and depth kinect cameras and the Sandbox doesn’t use the color camera at all you can get away with using just the factory settings for the kinect. Follow the complete instructions found on this forum:

    6. Plug in your first-generation Kinect device and download intrinsic calibration parameters directly from its firmware. In a terminal window, run:
    sudo /usr/local/bin/KinectUtil getCalib 0

This might ask you for your password again; if so, enter it to continue.

    Hope this helps 🙂
