I am getting a regular error: “no valid depth plane to lock to” when attempting to calibrate with a grid. I am using a grid as described (3.5″ squares on clear background).

    Thanks

Before you line up the depth image grid, ensure that the “Average Frames” button in the main menu is selected. That will collect several depth frames, calculate their average, and display it. While the button is selected, the depth image won’t update live any longer. After you placed the grid and collected a tie point, uncheck the “Average Frames” button, move the calibration target, and repeat.

I think we did that part correctly. Is it possible that the grid needs certain lighting or a certain background for the system to pick up the depth.

I just checked the sources, and this is a documentation error. I’ll post a top-level addressing the issue.
